Karaoke Kings
Well, I don't have pictures for you yet, but, yes, I did sing karaoke, and Mark did too! Isn't that funny? Everyone was taking a turn, or they'd take the mike around to you. Since we were new, we were big targets, and they told us to pick a song to sing.
I sang "I'm Saving All My Love For You," by Whitney Houston, to Mark. Singing it to him really helped me, plus I was in the right mood to do it. It was just fun! Mark smiled a lot and people clapped and called for an encore. A while later, Mark and I sang "Unchained Melody" to each other. It was kind of confusing, and we found out later that a guy had been singing it with us. Haha. I didn't recognize Mark's voice or the tempo or anything, and now I know why!
People still clapped and were all silly. That's what I liked about it.
Then Mark left for a dr. appt. and I played Bingo without paying or calling Bingo (they said lots of people do that). The lady across from me won almost everything (and I would've had Bingo once). She has a Brooklyn or New Jersey accent, and she said I was her good luck charm!
Not long after that, Mark came and we ate dinner downstairs. Mark had some delicious filet mignon and I had "a-spicy meatballs!" (Jim Carey voice there). I like them. They were made with rice and green chiles.
After that, we watched Notting Hill with DeeDee, Julie, Jeff, and a resident. We really like that movie, although there are a few naughty words in it and some iffy situations, so be warned. Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts star in it, plus it features a few truly oddball and loveable characters. We think the movie is very well cast and that Hugh Grant is particularly good in his role.
So that was a busy day! Today was very different: it was quiet, we had a lot of phone calls to make to various medicaid and waiver and Social Security offices, and, of course, no one could answer questions - they just referred us to someone else, who wasn't in their office!
We were trying to get more info or help in transferring my disability info here. We considered (and talked to my nurse back in Idaho) flying me back up there for a weekend or more, but it did NOT feel right. So we're praying for some progress. Meanwhile, our pharmacy there is sending us my next month's meds for now.
When Mark got off, we went downstairs and exercised along with DeeDee. They have different machines in front of a big tv screen, and they used those while I wheeled myself back and forth. Then Mark rolled me around on an exercise ball. That felt good. Then we got some salad (yum!) and came back upstairs and goofed off all evening, which helped dispel the "No, don't go back there alone!" feelings I was having.
As I said before, later on, after the State inspects his bldg., Mark can go up with me, or alone, and finish things up there. And we'll just have to have faith about the little details and tying up all the loose ends. That's my obsessive-compulsive side that wants to have everything hammered down, as far as the eye can see, with every possible variable stamped out of existence. That is really triggered when I contemplate returning to my previous situation, and I am so, so happy that I made it to here and that I'm free! Bwahhaha!
xoxoxo

Karaoke sounds scary! Glad you two were brave.
Everything sounds fun and relaxing. I would write more but I am sick with Audrey's stomach virus and Anya's congestion. So it is hard to think and/or type.
I thought I commented on all of the last several posts but I guess not! So karaoke, I'm shocked that Doc is singing and dancing and doing all these things he would hardly do in front of his own kids! :) That sounds like fun though, and I'm so happy that you're feeling well enough to do all those things.
