Holding Down the Zoo
I thought that would be a funny title, since Mark and I have said that we are just caretakers at the zoo or pet store. With Seth gone a lot, we're outnumbered! The cats have their quilt on the bed, just for them, and the door is open behind me (it's cold!) so that Leto can sit out on the back porch and feel comfy and proud about watching over the inside of the house also.
He also watches over the horse next door, the pinto. He loves to just look out at it. Funny dog!
So that is what I'm doing: letting various pets in and out of doors, while I watch Animal Planet for encouragement. :/
Really, tho, it's fun.
Mark said Giselle's wedding was very nice, that Bruce R. McKonkie's son (Joseph?) performed the sealing ceremony, that Giselle looked pretty and the reception was at a cool place, and that her new family is super-nice. Jeannie's son-in-law with the private jet flew in a couple of other relatives, and Mark felt like the poor relative, 'cause so many wealthy people were there.
Just kidding about him feeling that way...but it was very impressive and the food was great! Mark brought me back some, so I know about it. I had chicken caesar salad (yum!) and fresh fruit and some cookies and cake. All delish! Thanks, Mark and the Stephensons, for a taste of being there with you. Mark said they took lots of pictures (I'll post when we get copies) and that his dad seemed to be in better health than he'd feared. Yay for Grandpa!
So he had a good trip and was home fairly early, and that's most all the news!
I'm feeling well, and I hope you all are well and safe.
Love you!

p.s. I'll try and find those pictures to post. : )

All By Myself...
Hi! Mark is in SLC for Giselle's wedding and I'm here at home with Seth (he works tomorrow). Mark really wanted to go, to see his dad and the family. I hope they're having a good visit. It's 2:30 a.m. Sat. morning and I have the tv on - yipee! Leto is asleep on the floor, and I have watched tons of House Hunters and Tru TV crime shows, besides America's Next Top Model and part of a Steve Martin movie, "Bringing Down the House," edited for tv.Mark will be home tonight, so I don't feel left alone, really. I'm glad Mark got to go. He borrowed a car from Keith to drive down. It's been sunny some of the time lately and the grass is starting to green up. I've been rereading Dune, as it's my selection for the book club next week. It's so absorbing. I need to figure out a cinnamon-filled dish or dessert to serve. Maybe cinnamon rolls. (In Dune, the spice on Arrakis is described as cinnamon-colored and flavored.)Let's see...what else? I'm feeling better than I have been. That's good! It feels like I was under the weather all last month, but never super-sick.Most everything is the same as it was the last time I posted, which is good.
Hope things are good with you, too!

Tues. March 9th
Ever since I read The Shack for book club, I've been happier. I've felt free to delight in the moment, knowing that Heavenly Father has things perfectly in hand. I feel so much more gratitude, and I enjoy things more. I would recommend that book for anyone who can use their imagination to extrapolate from the symbols and story presented in it.
I want to make clear that my heart's circulation appears to be fine, if a little slow. That's not dangerous. So, as far as I know, all is well.
Mark is working later this evening, so they can do their taxes at work, with their accountant. So I'm watching House Hunters International, Jasmine is on my lap, and Tut is curled up in a quilt on the bed. It's cold outside, snowing this a.m. Megan says it's almost 70 degrees there today. What a difference! But I like a long, cozy winter. I'm never ready for the seasons to change - or at least not usually.
I've been watching a lot of home buying and decorating shows lately. It's fun to see the screen more clearly. It feels very luxurious! Mark's birthday is only 3 days away, and I don't have anything for him yet. Yikes! I ordered him a dvd, but he got it in the mail himself and opened it already. :( I'll have to get creative somehow.
So, how are things where you are? Let me know! We miss all of you!

Sorry
I have a good excuse, though: I was in the horspital. I asked Mark to tell the family, but he didn't. I guess he was waiting to see if I would die. Anyway, I checked out okay (I'd had heart attack symptoms, but it was just a lag, not a blockage, and I can take nitroglycerin for the symptoms. My blood is getting to my heart muscle, and that's good news!)
I hope things are fine with you, and I'll catch up more later. I just wanted to let you know that we are alive and well here in Chubbuck, Idaho!
