My Second Friday Here in Las Vegas
Hi! I've been here about a week and a half now, and I'm feeling more settled in, even tho I still haven't unpacked completely yet (the rest of it is extra medicine and toys, etc. Btw, if you see my Jerusalem bag, Melinda, I want to get that somehow. Ttyl about it and the things for Megan's kids. : )
I talked to Seth yesterday and he says he's doing fine and Leto's fine and everything everything. He's going to step up his job search, he said, and he liked his Christmas presents. Yay for that!
Phillip is back in MO, I guess, and alive - I see his posts on Facebook. Hi to Phillip!
And hi to everyone!
Last night we watched the movie, Red, I think it is (this is a poor-to-none punctuation post) and I quite liked it. It stars Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, and Helen Mirren as retired CIA operatives. I know I'm forgetting someone else, but, oh well. Mark loves this movie, which is why I saw it.
It has a good sense of humor about it, which I liked.
Mark brought me a cup of delicious soup last night, some kind of egg drop soup with sausage in it; that's as close as I can come to describing it. Then he fixed some tuna-flavored mayo (his version of tuna salad) that I made the mistake of tasting and ended up eating a ton of it. Too good!
It's partly cloudy and in the high 50's here today. I love that I can still see blue sky out the window. I've always wanted an upstairs living space, and now I have it. Cool! One of my fondest dreams come true. Ahhh...
Another thing I like is that Mark comes over here for brief visits during the day, to pick something up or drop something off. It's always a pleasant surprise, although today I was running way behind - as in, not even dressed yet. But now I'm showered and dressed and my hair is washed and the bed is made (thanks, Mark) and Tut is under the bed (since early this a.m. ~ I always get up at 5 a.m. or so, then often sleep from 7 till 8:30 or 9 a.m., so he's been snoozing for 7 hours or so).
I can hear someone singing in the huge gathering room here. They have bingo around 3 p.m. and those ladies line up their cards and are dead serious about it! It's so funny.
They're having the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas right now. It's huge and covered by all the networks, but it's not open to the public - just businesses, I guess. Also, every day they interview visiting stars on the local news. It's hilarious to see who's in town. (Megan, we should get together with Melinda and Haley and stalk some stars! Maybe we could add to our photo hall of fame!)
Today they were interviewing the female star of Glee (who is actually a nice married mom), Gwyneth Paltrow, and Steve Martin. At one point, the news guy didn't know he was on camera and he was texting on his phone. Finally, he realized he was on. It was sooo funny.
And that's the news here from Vegas. I am having so much fun! Thanks for your comments!
xoxoxo
