Mark just went down to work (long commute, haha), so I thought I'd write again. We really didn't do anything yesterday. He went to work and I looked up English history all day, on the computer. I wanted to know more about Ann Boleyn and Henry the VIII, then Sir Thomas More and St. Thomas Becket (I love the movie about him, with Peter O'Toole (swoon!) and Richard Burton, at the top of their games.
I actually finished up just as Mark walked in. Good timing! He went back down and got us salads and then we had ice cream. We watched a little of Inside the Actors' Studio, with Jim Carey, and there was a clip with Ewan McGregor on it that made us want to watch Moulin Rouge. We knew they have it in their theater cabinets here, so I wheeled around the corner with Mark and we took it back here and watched it.
Nicole Kidman and Ewan are so believable when they look at each other in Moulin Rouge, I told Mark that it's hard to believe they didn't fall in love on that movie. They must at least be good friends. I love how Ewan McGregor just sings out so naturally. He's such a good actor. He totally throws himself into his roles, unreservedly and unselfconsiously. At least it seems that way. I like that attitude.
Jim Broadbent does the same thing (he plays the 'announcer' guy, the big man with the red, frizzy hair). And they do it without any fanfare, like Johnny Depp does. They just take on these completely different roles and quietly become the characters they're cast as.
On another topic, I might be flying to Idaho on Friday, for a few days' visit, to keep my nurse's monthly visit active there. I'd do that, pick up my meds, and also my wheelchair (which we've been working on for almost a year), until I'm accepted on Medicaid's income waiver in Nevada. The waiver means you are so disabled that you aren't thrown off Medicaid because you have an income. Otherwise, I'll have to live in both places - but don't worry, we're working on correcting that right now.
Our bishop's wife (down here) works for Nevada's state gov't., and she's spoken with us and helped us know what to do to start that ball rolling.
Anyway, it will be interesting. I don't know if I really need to go yet or not.
But if I do, I love to fly on airplanes!
So maybe I'll be seeing some of you soon. : )
p.s. This is a link to a comedy spoof by Stephen Jones, a comedian from BYU, in the group The Left Field, who are performing this weekend in Salt Lake City and taping a dvd and cd. The cost for the show is 15 dollars and it's 8 yrs. old and up. You can also find lots of his stuff on youtube:
