Haley and Dallin saw the ambulances that night, and realized it was the same crosswalk where a student was killed last December. I remember Haley being shocked at that accident and how close it was to her dorm. After it happened, the city installed the flashing yellow lights as a safety precaution; too bad they didn't stop the driver of that truck the other night. Haley even had a premonition that someone they knew was killed, and she told Dallin about it.
I talked to Ben, and he said Bill is doing okay, but it's certainly a shock. We understand Sis. Stanton's funeral is Thursday, and Megan and I are going to go up together from here.
Sis. Stanton's husband died some years ago, so she is probably very happy to be reunited with him. It helps to think of that, at least.
We're sorry about your doggie dying, Dallin. Having just almost lost ours, we can begin to imagine what you must be feeling, although you had your dog a lot longer time. It's hard to let our loved ones go, isn't it?
I took these pictures of the snow on our apple tree Sunday - the leaves were still
green and full, so it made quite a sight, catching all that snow.
green and full, so it made quite a sight, catching all that snow. Really Beautiful.
Our apple tree, covered in blossoms, last spring ---
Looks like snow, doesn't it?
I got a call from Phillip this a.m., to let us know he's still alive, he said. They might ship out to Iraq in a couple of weeks, he said. They don't know yet, but they'll be there at least 12 months. Wow, that's so fast! They must be sending them as fast as they can train them. He says he'll resume his dog training when they have an open slot, after he gets back.
He'll be with the Combat Engineers, going ahead to look for mines. Sounds scary!
I also talked to Kattie for a brief moment, and then talked to Elizabeth about their pets and about how Rosa is doing. She said to tell everyone hello, and that Rosa is going to write Aiden back.
So, take care, Everyone.
'Bye!

Moooooo,
I can't believe Phillip's going to Iraq. He called me too, and said he's really excited to go. That's so sad about Sister Stanton. :( She was always so nice... at least she lived a very long, full life, and all of her kids are grown up. On a happier note, I am so excited you guys are coming up here and you'll get to see my house!!! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! See you tomorrow!
Moo, I can't believe how much your apple blossoms look like snow! Wasn't that snow storm weird? I wonder if it hadn't been snowing so much in Rexburg that night if S. Stanton would have been hit. Haley said you could hardly see. I have been way more careful driving since then. it just seems so weird that she was hit so close to home, and in a crosswalk.
I am so excited to go to Rexburg tomorrow, except for the funeral part. I'm excited to go to Haley's so you can see her cute place.
Does Phillip have our blog addresses? I haven't heard from him since he left. Tell him hi and not to die! Oh, and to look for Mike.
Yes, Phillip does have our blog addresses. Whenever I talk about them, he seems kind of guy-ish, as in 'No Lookee the Blogs," which follows Mark's example of never once glancing at mine!!! ;) Anyway, Ben did read mine (he's the current Golden Child, along with Melinda for watching kids yesterday, during the funeral).
So if you're reading this, Phillip, congratulations, New Golden Child! :)
