Conference Saturday with the Fam and the FurBalls

Hey, Everybody! What an exciting day! We get to pick Leto up in an hour (!), Haley and Dallin will be over for Conference this a.m., and maybe some grandkids will come! (And maybe some Parents, but who cares about Parents, anyway? ;) So, to update you on Leto, he was operated on yesterday, and the vet had to remove Leto's spleen because it was twisted and had lost its blood supply - that would have been LETHAL. Leto's stomach was bruised a little (could it have been that Long, Stiff Tube, perhaps?), but he got all Tacked Down (as we In The Know say...meaning I just made that up). He'll have a long incision now, but should be good to go, with no more problems. Yay! I can't wait to get his fur all over me, in a Great Big Hug! Yesterday, Maahvelous Megan and the kids came over for a short while. Anya is getting so spankable! And Aiden was bright-eyed and actually friendly to his 'Old, Wrinkled, Grandma.' - not his actual phrase, but basically that's what he's told me I am. Aiden says he doesn't like grandmas because they're old and 'are going to die any time.' He also told me I have wrinkles on my nose! I think Aiden just enjoys playing hard-to-get, because, as I pointed out to him once as he sat on my lap: He Always wants to sit on my lap when he's playing computer games, He Always has a big smile on his face when he gets here, and He LOVES making books with me - ergo, he LIKES me!... And he didn't argue with that at all. ;) Audrey was also smiling and energetic. She and Aiden ran in a circle, from the family room and through the French doors and around again - kids love circles! As they ran through, they would "Grrrr!" fiercely at us. Audrey took particular delight in that. And this time they didn't have Leto running ahead of them, thinking he was being protective and knocking them over with his tail (sorry, Audrey - he's coming back). Seth did his chores with his usual aplomb...that is, when he can't leave till they're done! And The Gallant Mark escorted me on a date! We went to see An American Carol, which features the brother of the late Chris Farley (he bears a remarkable, though much slimmer, resemblance to Chris), and various stars in cameo roles. It's a comedy, meant to poke fun at Michael Moore (disguised, in this case, as 'Michael Malone') through a loose plot featuring terrorists and country music. We laughed out loud at the slapstick comedy and over-the-top silliness, and felt some satisfaction in the points that were made. Still, it was just an 'okay' movie, but we had fun with our 80 cent tub of popcorn, and I got Mark all to myself for two hours! (Tut Kitty just came in from outside and jumped up on me with all fours, so I don't have to look to know it's WET!! Yikes, Tut!) Okay, time to go...'Bye!

Did you know Aiden askes me to play "Old Grandma" with him, which is what he thinks Old Maid is called!
Have you given Sandy or anyone your blog address? Can I give it to Lauren?

Haley told me you had a blog! That's why I love blogs, to keep in touch with people I hardly get to see anymore, especially your family considering we both moved out of the good ol' 21 ward! It loks like life is going great for you! You'll have to tell everyone I say hi!

You gotta love kids! Aiden is so funny because he never wants you to know how much he likes you. I just beat it out of him. :) Well, Old Grandma, give Leto a big smackery kiss for me and I will see you later today! Yahoo!

This last weekend was so fun visiting and eating with everyone! And thanks so much for the jewelry (I love it, and am getting that broach fixed asap). I loved your descriptions of all the kids. Aiden is totally playing hard-to-get. That's why I like to buy my nieces and nephews things- because then I force them to tell me how much they love me before they can have it. hehehe.
