Conference Weekend
On
SAT-URDAY...
We got Leto back from the vet's, and he was pretty groggy for the first day or so. Today (as of this writing) he's feeling good enough to chase the neighbor's goats out of our back pasture, although it winded him - yay, Leto! My aide then plugged up the places they've been pushing through. Hope that holds them - Naughty Little Goatsies!
It's so nice to have Leto back, even if he just stands
around, looking Lethargic.
Haley and Dallin had breakfast here, as well as at Megan's, because of a slight mixup. It was all for the best, however, since Dallin and Haley are both so skinny!
Mark made his delicious, super-smoothie hot chocolate, Homemade blueberry muffins with Extra Blueberries, and crispy bacon.. Mmmm...

Haley and Megan Laugh at pictures of Dallin ;)
We played Apples to Apples between sessions. Haley cheated and won. No, that's not true - she either didn't cheat or she didn't win, but I'm not saying which. Neener, Neener, Neener! - I'm no-ot tellling!

Megan, Brooks, and children came over before the second session, so Audrey got to play with the toys while Aiden played Tropix 2 on our computer - that is, until the overhead speaker roared to life and scared him (and his mom) to death! His face looked like he'd got the starch taken out of him, right- good!

Then they had to leave. :( ...Always hard to say goodbye...
Okay, so
SUNDAY
We partcularly enjoyed several talks in the Sunday morning session. After that, we headed up to Melinda and Danny's home for lunch and a visit. What was that we had, Melinda? Oh, yeah...pork chops, pasta salad, and a potato and vegetable gravy that was delicious, with brownies as a chaser. It was so good, in fact, that Mark and Seth couldn't stay awake through the second session.. (Psssst! Melinda! Get me that evidence asap, wouldja? I could use it in some future negotiations I'm planning. Heh, heh...)
Laney went in beddie-bye for a nap before we left, but we got to spend a good amount of time with her and Alex and Tristan. Laney makes flirty faces and sunshine eyes when she smiles. She readily climbs on laps, which is fun for me.
Tristan kept saying, "It's Grandma!" and "Grandpa Doc is here!" like we were his long-lost, rich relatives. It made us feel very welcomed!
And Alex ran up and put his arm around me. He had the most loving expression on his face. During the session, he would point out the First Presidency on his Apostle cards.
It was fun to see the kids (AND the parents), and we got to see their foster-kitty and their beautiful fall decorations. That's why I had offspring - so that they could take over all the child-rearing, housekeeping, and decorating chores for me. Yipee! Now I can just Rest!
Finally, as on Saturday, we had to say Goodbye. :(
But we'll see you Next Time!
(I'll add some pictures of Sunday's visit to this post later.)
'Bye!

That was such a fun visit, and tell Doc I really do want his hot chocolate recipe! I know it still won't taste as good as when he makes it, but I still want to try.
