Grandkids Visit!
This afternoon Melinda brought her children for a visit! Melinda is married to Danny, and they have three Darling children (btw, Darling is a family name, just like Wendy's family in Peter Pan - cool, huh?). They got out some toys from the two toyboxes in the living room, watched The Santa Clause, and had some lunch. Alex (age 6) barely touched his eggs and ketchup, Tristan (age 3) lay on our bedroom floor sucking on a Tootsie Pop (what? lunch? this is lunch!!), and Laney (16 mos.) chowed down on a meat and vegetables repast. Various ones also had bites of Mark's Special Cream of Mushroom Soup...mmm...that was left from Ben and Linda's wedding luncheon.
Before they left, they went out back and fed the horses windfall apples from our tree. After some squabbling, the boys climbed up on our stepstool to reach Jewel (who was crowding Buddy out, till Melinda came to his rescue). I wished I had a camera, 'cause it was really cute! The sun was shining, the horses were sweetly bending their necks to reach the kids' upstretched hands, and Laney (little smartey-pants!) spied a knothole in our wood fence and, all on her own, crouched down and picked some grass for the horses; then she carefully pushed it through the knothole for them (Melinda said there was a neat little pile of grass on the other side). Cute!
Oh, I have to go! Leto is in alot of pain from something!

How weird to read your post that you wrote right as Leto came in your room in pain! Mel told me about Laners and her feeding the hole in the fence. Wish we had a camera to capture it! Oh, remind me to tell you about the jams I got Laners. They are SO Laney.
