But Mark is bent on winning the Most Blue Ribbons award in the Baking Division at this year's State Fair, and he needs to work on that all day.

I hope Doc does well at the fair! We were just talking about how soon the fair is there and how we need to find a good one here.
I'm with you. I long to be hiking with NieNie too! If I was there then we could go down together for the day to cheer her on. That would be wonderful, and a very memorable trip!
I know, Megan. And then Mark could stay here and continue his baking.
Melinda is out of town, too, and I couldn't even ask Haley to take the baby and go with me - he's just too new for a trip - but I'll take new babies any time!
Poodle, I wish I could have taken you to hike with NieNie. But I'm sure she'll blog about it and then you can feel like you were there. :) Tell Doc good luck with is baking!
