Bear Lake with the Campbells and Fairy House-House

Even though everyone looks very serious in these pictures
we really did enjoy ourselves at Bear Lake
Except for some clouds every once in awhile
It was perfect weather
Everyone along the beach seemed so relaxed
It seemed to me the epitome of the blessing of freedom
because there was no one to tell you what you could bring
or wear or eat or set up
I saw virtually every kind of setup
from a few towels and a bag
To elaborate portable shelters and pots of hot corn on the cob
We even saw a giant water ball with a person in it
And every kind of toy
from air mattresses to paddle boats
Kids had buckets and shovels and trucks
they were playing with in the sand
We didn't have a bad setup ourselves
with a shelter and picnic table
(we were lucky to score one of the few that are there!)
and a cooler full of pop and sandwiches and grapes
The kids ate corndogs and there were cookies and chips
You know it's a summer vacation when you get to eat the junk food!

Mark has continued to apply for jobs, including one in Bend, Oregon
He's going to call the places near Parkersburg, where Megan's family lives
To see if they have any administrator openings.
At this point, we are really pushing for Mark to get employment
and praying and trusting that Heavenly Father will intervene here
if something needs to change in the interim.
At the same time, we are trying to make things better here,
whether we end up selling and moving
or not. :)
While I was gone, Seth worked at Burger King and Mark baked
Rocky Road brownies and made strawberry cheesecakes
to freeze for the fair!
The cheesecakes have an oreo crust
and will be edged with chocolate-dipped strawberry halves
Doesn't that sound like a winner?

The picture above is of our fairy house in its new home - a heavy, tall, beautiful terrarium that I got off of Craig's list. Isn't it perfect? It's at a height I can see into, yet is heavy enough that grandkids and Leto won't tip it over. I think it's wonderful! It doesn't show in the pics, but there's a graceful finial at the top. Seems very fairy-like to me, and it adds some elegance to our family room.
---------------
Sunday, Mark went to church without me, because I had a reaction to my antibiotic
And had to take some medication and wait for it to stop
Sometimes that happens, and it's not serious (so far)
But I don't want to sit in church itching all over!
It was nice and rainy yesterday, which we needed
(Good thing it wasn't that way Saturday!)
Now it's really fresh and sunny outside
and Leto's waiting for me, so I'd better go...
I've got lots to do!
I hope you have enjoyed this little blog post
And that you had a wonderful weekend
Hugs!

I love the updates you always have about your life. I admire how you make the most of every situation and always are looking for the positive. I need to be better at that.

We miss Bear Lake! That is the best swimming place around. And it's free! So, we got internet a few hours ago and I am sitting here eating a salad and checking up on everyone. I don;t have much time now but I will post someday soon. There is so much to do! But we are loving it here and sooo happy to be out of the motel.

Great pictures of the trip to Bear Lake! I think they all look so serious in the pictures because they're eating. And eating is a very serious matter! At least at the Campbell home, you have to fight for your food or it will get eaten by some little munchkin! :) I'm glad you had a fun weekend with them.
Could you tell Doc that I need his recipes, for banana bread especially and he can email them to me on your hotmail account. And you can tell him that I volunteer to be a taste-tester for all of yis yummy food! Pick me, pick me!

Your fairy house looks very pretty and fairy-ish. I want to come visit you again soon and then I can see it in real life.
We had a wonderful weekend in Washington. I'll post pictures soon. Right now, Hunter is snoozing on me (that's usually the only time I have to get on the computer!). Talk to you later!
