Terrific Thursday and Frolicking Friday

Yesterday Aiden joined the girls and came over to our apt. in the afternoon.  Aiden and I looked up Tropix on the Internet, because he'd been wanting to play it again like we did when he was little, so he did, to his great delight.  The girls were right next to him, on the bed with their projects.  Every once in a while, Anya would run in and get on Butterscotch, my big toy pony, for her horse-fix.
We also had a baked fish platter for lunch, followed by cake and ice cream, hot cocoa and soda pop, and bags of popcorn.  Woowee!
The girls had little Best Friends books to decorate and fill in.  They had stickers galore, punchouts, markers and colored pencils, glue tape, special page frames and sparkly gems for decorating to their heart's content, while Ella Enchanted played nearby.  What lucky girls!
I enjoyed their visit so much - lucky grandma!

Today (this afternoon) we went to the splash park in Rexburg.  I rode up with Melinda and met Megan and Brooks up there.  We got to sit on the grass under a huge shade tree, right next to the splash toys.  The kids had a ball, of course.  They would get all soaked and then lie down along the sides on the sun-baked concrete to warm up.  I got to hold Irelyn part of the time, too.  She is so good!  And her hands are little, but strong and grabby, lol.
We had some fresh pineapple, besides what I ate on the way, courtesy of Melinda - I hadn't planned to go, so hadn't eaten yet today, and she put some things together for me.  Thanks, Melinda!  That was a lifesaver!

After splashing for a long time, we took the kids for a ride on the carrousel.  Aiden even rode his old horse, Sugar, that he named when he was three years old.  We also bought some cotton candy in pink and purple.  Yum!

Altogether, the trip was fun, and we listened to Winnie the Pooh on the way home in Melinda and Danny's van.  I'm glad I went, because the kids were so cute in their swimming suits, the company was good, the day was sunny and perfect, tho a little breezy, and it felt like we'd gone to a big water park far away, yet it was only a 30-minute drive away!  Also, the other parents and the kids were so nice.  You could tell some of them lived nearby and came all the time.  What a nice, refreshing summer activity!

Tonight I watched Olympic tryouts in women's gymnastics.  Pretty exciting stuff!  And I watched Count of Monte Cristo during the commercials (I want that movie, with Henry Cavill and Jim Cavieazil (sp?)!).  Then the news, covering the devastating fires south of Pocatello.  It covered 400 some acres and burned 66 homes in the Mink Creek and Indian Creek/Inkom areas, just south of the Gables building there (now with a new owner).  It's still not contained.  Lots of donations being made to Red Cross of Idaho.

Also, I've watched commentary on the Supreme Court ruling that the insurance penalty in Obama's healthcare plan is a tax, yet Obama saying it isn't.  Very convoluted stuff.

And that's the news for now.  Thank you for your comments.  Sabriel had ear infections and is getting better, btw.  Hope you are all well and safe and sunny!
