Megan and Brooks and family are finally here! It's been great to see the kids and visit with Megan and Brooks. We went over to Melinda's Saturday and visited in the front yard; then, on Sunday, the grandkids sang in Sacrament Mtg. Afterwards, we changed our clothing and grabbed our own sack lunches and drove up to the windmills - they were so cool, and it was crazy-windy! We went to a park for our picnic lunch, and the kids played on the playground toys.
Tuesday evening Mark dropped me off to get my nails done (made a mistake on the too-yellow color) and then Melinda and Megan joined me for shopping at the Ross and Kohl's stores near here. We had a great time showing each other what we liked and scheming together for the best bargains (as in, using Melinda's 30% off coupon at Kohl's). I got some knee sox that I wanted, besides getting a tiny model horse set and some tights for Anya.
Wednesday noon I went to the party store (first time there!), with Phillip and Megan, where Megan got sparklers, snaps, and balloons and swirlies for Anya's party. By the time we got to Melinda's and decorated and Megan frosted the cake (the store had white frosting and no food coloring, so Megan borrowed food coloring from the neighbor and, like the painters in Alice, turned the white frosting red - actually pink.), guests were arriving.
We played with the sparklers and snaps and the kids jumped on the trampoline. Then we played a game where the kids had to eat through a pile of whipped cream to reach a piece of gum and blow a bubble. Josh just looked at us like we were crazy at first, but ate some whipped cream eventually. Kenya won the contest.
Then Anya opened her presents (pictures later, here). She got some awesome tops and tights and polka dot pants and dresses (one with a belt!). She also got a big Melissa and Doug coloring pad, a big set of Polly Pockets (she seemed shocked that she got what she wanted), some glitter nail polish, and the horse set, which she really loved, thank goodness. I'm probably forgetting things, but that gives you the general idea. Anya was so cute, exclaiming over things in her little voice, as she sat on her daddy's lap.
Today Audrey and Anya are coming over to make little "Best Friends" books with me. How fun will that be?! I've been straightening up the craft room and living room so they can enjoy themselves and access the all-important toys! : )
Sabriel is seeing Dr. Southwick today. She's had a cold for 8 days, and now she has a fever, so they got her in. Poor little dolly. I hope she gets better soon.
And that's all for now. Take care!

I'm going to have to use your blog post to help me remember everything we did on this trip!
We are having lots and lots of fun here in Idaho. I'm so glad the kids get to spent time at your place today! I can tell they think it is really neat, and Aiden must be convinced that your house is HUGE!
Hopefully we get to keep doing things together, and hopefully Saber gets better soon.
This all sounds like so much fun! I wish I was there to go shopping with all of the girls and to celebrate and talk on the grass. Wahh! But I'm so glad you're all having a great time and that the grandkids are playing with all of your toys. How fun for you!
Anya sounds sooo cute how she exclaimed over all of her presents in her tiny voice. Oh I can't wait to see her tiny-ness!
