Hi. Did I mention that my left arm is numb? I woke up that way - probably a compressed nerve that will improve with time. Meanwhile, I'm pecking out posts; that's about all I can do. I can't even wheel my chair!
I hope the earthquake in Japan gave you an even greater sense of the importance of emergency packs, etc. The Red Cross has a website that gives you great ideas for 72-hour kits, etc. Also, keep some cash in zip locs in your kits, and keep your gas tanks full and supplies in your car. In almost every picture of survivors that I see, they could sure use one of those packs, for water, food, fire, medicines and 1st-aid kits, ponchos, hand warmers, transistor radios, flashlights, socks, and on and on.
So keep working on those kits and other things we've been instructed to have, even a little each week. I just think how much we could help others at a time like this one in Japan.
Love You!

The quake and everything happened the day Sabriel was born, so all day long I got to watch footage on the news channels. Soooo sad, and yes, helps inspire preparation for unforseen disasters.
I have always felt soooo much better having 72 packs ready to go. We need to go through them over conference weekend (coming up in a few weeks) and replace the food and put stuff for the baby in there. Anya knows they have treats and stuff in them and she always wants to get hers out of her pack! One day she wanted a treat and I told her we didn't have any and she said, "We have some in my backpack!" She was so excited! She'll be happy on conference weekend I guess!
I'm glad you reminded us, because I need to go through ours and put some diapers/wipes, etc, in them for Hunter. And we haven't rotated the food in it for a couple of years- yikes!
I hope your arm gets better! Yes, we are trying to start working or being better prepared. It does make you realize how vulnerable you are when these things happen. But wouldn't all your stuff have been washed away, anyway? I love the old pictures!! So fun! Mary looks so much like Lauren and Sandy looks like Heather at that age, or some other of her kids. Maybe it's Tamathy. Anyway, they make me smile!
