Jasmine's Gentle Path

To all friends and family of Jasmine, We just want to let you know that we don't think she's going to live long. She's gotten very quiet last night and today, and just stays under my toy pony, where the coverlet hangs down. She seems happy and purrs, but won't eat or drink anything. This is what cats often do, when they get ready to die. She's almost 17 years old, so it's no wonder. It came on suddenly, but she doesn't display any symptoms of pain or distress or illness, other than what I've told you.Since everyone always ask about her, I thought you'd want to know what's going on at this time.Good ole Jasmine. She looks like she's going to leave us gently. We'll love and miss her, but she's earned a warm, sunny spot in kitty heaven. Love,Diane, Mark, and Seth

Poor little spazzy! I miss her already. It seemed that we all knew she would have a hard time making it through winter. Maybe if Idaho's winters weren't so long! But, Jazz has lived a long and wonderful life. Can you believe we've had her since we lived in Logan and you and Doc weren't married yet?! She has been with you and Doc since you got married! It's been kind of like living with a grandma lately, hu. She's a bit crochety and demanding. I will miss Jazzy cat wanting to lay across my neck when we visit! And what will you do without her on your head all the time?!

Ahhh, that makes me sad! I remember when she was a kitten and she would chase and bite my feet whenever I walked past her, and so I started crying every time I had to walk by her! She has been through everything with our family- she knows us better than anyone else. :) I will miss her, but I'm happy she's going to kitty heaven and she'll be young and able to run around again. I can't even imagine what she would look like without her huge pouch of fat swinging back and forth. :)

I just realized, Tut will be so sad and lonely. :( But he'll have Leto, and just think, your house will have half the amount of cat hair- woo hoo!

Oh, little Jazzy Spaz. I'm glad that if she is going to go, she doesn't seem in pain or distress. I do think she has had a good, happy life. Not many cats get to live with just one family their whole life, and she never got in any accidents or fights with other cats. And I can't think of us ever having a vet bill with her! That is really unusual! It is sad to think of her being gone, but she is getting old and we have wondered lately how much longer she will be around. At least in her time here on earth she got a lot of love and sunny-curl up time and learned to use the toilet. There will never be another Jasmine!
