Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was so excited to see this post and I had so much fun reading your answers! So,
I guess the basic word of your life is "Sleep!" That baby must be
growing in a hurry, to take so much of your energy (not that Hunter
doesn't do his share). You're still in the stage where you have a
toddler and no older children to help you in little ways. It's very
tiring! Add to that being pregnant and you have one tired lady! Also, you are in a limbo right now, job-wise, that keeps dragging out. That would put anyone to sleep! I will divide this into two comments, ok?
I am just like Dallin, where I "see" something I'm told and then
quit hearing the rest. Also, I really can't hear music nearly as well
with my eyes open, as I do when they're shut. I just found that out in
recent years. And I hear things after they are said, and I keep
hearing it for a while. That's one way I remember things - I listen to
the echo. It makes it hard to hear in a group discussion, tho. And I see numbers around a foot tall in my head, and my sense of touch distorts things too. Phone numbers and general numbers also have a feeling to them. I love your autobiography title! (Maybe people would write more of them if that word wasn't so long and intimidating!) Usually it takes me a while to remember anything when I wake up, but it used to be much worse. I dream in Technicolor, and I've dreamed the things in my question a bunch! Many
of you kids' fears seem to be trying to keep your kids from
experiencing things that you did. That's sad, but at least you've
consequently made those areas into strengths, in terms of your
children's care. That gives some meaning to my experiences as well. You're
brave to have FHEves. We have just decided that we need them, even for
just the two of us, so we'll be working on that. And we are almost
perfect about going on dates. Isn't keeping the commandments fun? ;) Okay, three parts...
You are so thrifty, Haley! It's like a game, it seems, for you
girls to see who can save the most and still get such nice things. I
love hearing about saving money, since I grew up as the daughter of
bargain-hunters extraordinaire (and hoarders). Normally, I spend what
I spend on gifts and things to keep me busy - basically, things to
make or fun things for the grandkids and me to share. :) And
pistachios! I think it is super-important that we take care of our
health, especially our teeth. More and more, studies show that our
whole body is affected by the condition of our teeth. I always used
to have an active lifestyle, since I loved reading, but also fishing,
horses, running, etc. Now I need to figure out new ways to be so active
a few times a wk., minimum. My bones make it hard to do, but I know
there's something! I have to have at least the clean slate -
grooming and hair and nails well cared for. If I have time, I love to
do my makeup and put on some jewelry. (I don't have to worry about
shoes, lol.) Also, I think care of our skin is so good for us.
After all, our hands and arms and face are what we and others see, and
it reflects back to us how we feel about ourselves. I don't believe
in going the "Housewives of..." route, however. Too much makeup,
jewelry, clothing, hair extensions, fake tanning, plastic surgery and
Botox, and, expecially, the emphasis on it. I like to think of Pres.
Hinckley's admonition to women, to make themselves attractive, put a
smile on their face, and walk in the dignity of a daughter of God. Fix it and forget it! Thanks again for answering! xoxoxo
Thanks for the long, satisfying comments! After spending so much time writing on my blog, I really love it when people give me some feedback! I think you taught us girls to be careful about our skin care and how important it is to take care of it now at a young age. I am trying to find a sunscreen for my face that doesn't make my face feel like it's burning off! I must have more sensitive skin than I thought!
