Mark bought us tickets, back in March or April, to the Americal Idol Top Ten concert in Salt Lake City, so Tuesday we got to go! It was for our 15th wedding anniversary, and we wandered around taking pictures of flowers and looking in a wonderful pet shop (Bird World), and we went to Sam Weller's bookstore. S. Weller's store is on Main St. in SLC, and the whole downstairs is filled with used and unusual books. I love it, although I didn't find anything to buy this time (we were only there for a relatively brief visit). Nothing was rushed, which was just perfect.
At 5:30 or so, we went to the E Center to park and get settled for the 7 p.m. show. Most people didn't make it there until a few minutes before the concert!
It was fun to know we were there, and we enjoyed the last part of the show, featuring Danny, Allison and Adam and Chris Allen - Mark likes Chris more than I do. Allison and Adam also did a duet together. Adam really rocked the place. Wooo Whee! It was fun!
Wheelchair seats were all as far away as possible. I measured with my pinky nail, and the performers were the size of a third of the nail. Can you believe that? There were screens up, but I preferred to look at the real people.
I love that we were part of their live audience!
It was great to do something to mark our anniversary. Made me love Mark even more.
PS I'm also including some cute shots of Leto begging for caramel corn, since I was such a total flop in the photography dept. lately. :/

Oh how fun to go on a little escapade for your anniversary! I love traveling and getting away somewhere different for a while. I bet you were really really happy, since you usually don't get out very much! I love the picture of Leto. They make me miss his big huuuuge ears. :)
I forgot that you had those tickets! I bet that was so much fun! Was Adam's singing amazing? Did anyone have more presence in person than on TV? Did you just go down for the one day? How is Doc's job hunt going? Can you call me sometime tomorrow, like in the morning? Have I asked enough question?!
Yes, Adam's singing was totally amazing! Even more than on the show. Matt Giraud ? had much more presence in person, so did the blind guy, tho not as much. And Allison was really good. Mark thought Chris was better in person. We both thought Danny was a wonderful person, but his hair was kind of weird straight up and his glasses were white on the sides which looked funny. It was hard to hear him well - they didn't have him singing his best songs. We love him, tho! Adam was, imho, fantastic!
Yeah, we just went down for the afternoon and evening, very relaxed and wonderful time for us. :)
Mark is setting up things to interview for Sequim, and also applying to other places around the country, talking to some, etc. We'll probably take the first place that feels pretty good.
What's weird is I just got a book, The Cottagers, that takes place across the Strait from Sequim - and it's creepy! So it scares me a little. I got it on pback swap, and put it on my list a while back. What are the odds of that? Yikes!
I'll call tomorrow a.m. probably.
Love youse guys!
Happy Anniversary! Rock on!
