I'd better quit waiting for pictures, 'cause it's too long between posts as it is! Besides, I have plenty of illustration-type pictures in my files.
Let's see...what's up? Well, I'm not doing too well on my resolutions, but we have been doing Family Home Evenings, and that's an important one. I haven't been great on the snail-mail resolution. I've been testing more often. And experimenting. So I'm doing pretty well over all, I suppose. I just need to focus more.
Our family decided on no tv until 7 p.m., which was really a compromise, since I'd prefer only movies, viewed together! Anyway, that might help some of us to focus. It's easy to slip into listening to shows that start earlier, so just knowing we have a boundary there will help us, I believe.
Our Mother's Day was wonderful! I got several nice notes and candy/cookies from family, a phone call from Ben, and a phone call from Phillip. Both are fine. Phillip just took a few-days-leave to Quatar, and sounded much more relaxed. Good for him! And we had a touching Mother's Day program at church yesterday. I miss my mommy! She was so supportive and happy, and she loved learning. My younger kids really missed out by not knowing her, but they are close to many of their siblings and extended family, so they get some of her through them.
I think I am like my mom in many ways, but I'm not as unselfish as she was, and I'm not as determined to be happy. Maybe that's part of learning and growing, or maybe it's a shortcoming. Not sure about that. Anyway, I miss her company. She was the center of our family, and she always took an interest in our lives. She was a big hugger, too. What I wouldn't give for one of those hugs!
Friday, I went over to Megan and Brooks's apartment for their garage sale. I stayed most of the day, and it was so relaxing and fun! The weather was sunny, but not hot, and people were friendly. The prices were good, so many scored major bargains. I got some clothes and 2 bookcases, some pictures, and a patio table and chairs. Yahoo!
Then, Saturday, we went to the farewell bbq for Brooks and Megan and Sarah (Brooks's sister) and TJ, who are also moving away. It was another awesome day, and it was great just to eat and talk, sit around, talk, and talk. I'll have pictures of both days, when I get them downloaded.
So, that catches you up to today, when Mark and his boss are going to Oregon for business. They have all the fun! ;) No, really, I'm having fun myself, just sitting out on the back patio and reading. Ahh...

It's seems like it was a crazy AND fun weekend! I'm so glad you came to help at the garage sale! That made it soooo much more enjoyable. It was fun laying out on the tarp with all the stuff and talking while Audrey picked dandelions.
We kind of forgot that yesterday was Mother's Day, so I'm glad we gave you your gift early! There are just so many thoughts running through my head and it can't keep track of them all.
Let us know if you need anything while Doc is gone. Food? Candy? Company? Of course, we will be in I.F. tomorrow so I guess we will only be helpful tonight!
We got the remote for the van today and it is WONDERFUL! I listened to show tunes on the radio while Audrey watched a movie and Brooks was in Lowe's getting a knife sharpening set.
Talk to you soon! I really need to finish scanning pictures in these next few days.
Happy (late) Mother's Day! I also forgot that Mother's Day was yesterday, so I'm glad I gave you your present early too. :) We got little flowers in our ward for Mother's Day, and the primary came to Relief Societ and sang to us. And yet I still forgot to call you after church! Sorry!
You can call me if you get bored or sad while Doc is gone. I have just been busy with school so I could use a little conversation! Can't wait to see everyone this weekend at the Shamrock sales! Woo hoo!
