Out of the Hospital!
That heading should let you know where I've been for the past while. I had some health problems (a kidney infection, etc.) which are much better now, and thank you for your comments and well wishes. They worked!
So now I have one priority, which I've never had, unless I was pregnant: my health. I just feel motivated this time. I think it's because of the drs. and nurses down here in Pocatello. They really try to do a good job, and they're focused on that; they don't have other things taking the front position in their minds. I think that's because of the university/learning environment. In the face of so much earnestness, I can't help but join in the figuring out of my health and finding how to manage it.
Reliv has made such a tremendous difference for me. I'm sure it's saved my life and provided me with this chance to recover enough to think about things and come to some conclusions. With Dr. Gillette's help (he's a resident here), I've been able to sort out more of this tangled knot that is my autonomic nervous system. Maybe when I get a handle on it, and thus on my insulin, etc., my health will actually improve!
Phillip has called a couple of times recently. He seems to be doing well. He's been promoted to Private First Class. He got to see the SuperBowl. He is a driver on their missions. For six days at a time, they drive really slowly, looking for explosive devices. They've found one so far and exploded it. Other platoons have hit some, with injuries. He says books would be a good gift, if we send him something. He'd probably really enjoy pictures or videos even more. I can tell he misses the grandkids.
I've got a bad stomachache still. Maybe it's from some medicine I'm on. Or maybe my insides have just stopped working. :/ Wish me luck, 'cause I need to get ahead of things if I'm going to survive!

FLO!!! You're back! I'm so so so glad that you finally got your priorities straight and wrote on your blog. :)Just kidding. I really am so happy to hear that you're back from the hospital, because I seriously think you've spent more time IN the hospital than out of it. :) Thanks for the update on your health. I really am trying to make my health a priority also, especially because I see how having good or bad health completely changes your life, your family, everything. I really want to be alive and well while my kids are growing up, and I want to be able to do fun things with my family! And also thanks for updating us on Phillipe. I hope he gets the package I sent him. I put some capri sun drinks in it, and now I'm all worried that they're going to explode in the package and spill all over everything! Oh dear... well, at least I tried!
Mamsie-Poo! I'm so glad that you are back home! We loved visiting you, but you know, those hospital rooms are a little tight! :) I hated thinking about you being in pain, and I hope it's under control now. Pleaseeee, please, stay as healthy as you can! I can't stand to think about you not being around! I'm used to the idea now that you are always leaning over the brink of death, but then a few days later are back to normal! And I think you are always so positive and non-complaining, that sometimes I don't realize how serious things are. I'm really glad you're home now.
I want to send Phillip a package soon. I'm glad Haley sent one. Do you have his address? I will call you and get it. Call.... what a novel idea! Love you!- Mels
Glad you are safe and home!!! Are you still home? I can't get anyone to answer the phone over there.
The kids made something for you, so we will bring it over soon. Also, we'll bring something for Seth and his big 16th B-Day!
I hope your tummy gets better soon. Not only so you are healthy, but so you can go on the girl trip this year!!!
I am glad to hear you are home and recovering. We missed you at Book Group, I was really looking forward to your thoughts and reactions to the book. Keep taking care of yourself, taking the meds, and getting rid of the bellyache.
