On our way down to Mesa, we stopped in Las Vegas
andd saw Julie and DeeDee, two of our best friends from there
I forgot to take a photo of Julie, but Mark got pictures of me and DeeDee.
It was great to see them!
(We couldn't reach Melissa, our other friend from there. Bwah!)

We also got to spend the night at the Excaliber for only $29!
More Vegas pics:
The Excaliber:

We shared the yummiest dessert from a little coffee kiosk
in New York, New York :

Fulton's Fish - Yum!
If you squint, you can see Mark standing in line :

The view from our room window, with our bldg. reflected in the MGM Grand's surface:

Another view out our window at the hotel:

We also stopped at Susan and Mike's on the way.
Mark took this picture from the street in front of their place
that afternoon:

Isn't it gorgeous?!
And here is their neighbor's dog:

He just stared at us.
Here is a typical scene of Leto and Tut, for comparison:

They have such a hard life.
So that was the first portion of our trip down to Mesa.
Remember, this is mid-winter, and the weather was just gorgeous!

This is in Grandpa's backyard.
Crazy!
Stopping at Susan's and in Las Vegas made the first part of our trip really relaxing.
Thank you, Susan, for your hospitality!
I will continue with this in a separate post.
Take care!

Las Vegas looks like a fun place to stop at! And the view from Susan's house is gorgeous!
I can't believe how pretty and warm it looks in vegas and Mesa. Nice!
All I can say about Susan's mountainous view is WOW! I can't even imagine having big snowy mountains so close! That view is amazing.
Your trip looks like fun! I keep forgetting that the reason you went down there was for a funeral. It just looks like a vacation with Las Vegas and good food and that neat hotel! How in the world did you get a room there soooo cheap?! That's an amazing deal!
I hope you get to keep blogging a lot! I feel a lot lonelier when everyone disappears from their blogs. :/ No pressure though! Hehehe....
P. S.
You look really good and I love your black and white shirt! Also, those orange trees look fake! The rest of us all have stick trees right now. Can't wait for spring!
I'm so glad you got to go down and that the trip was nice. Vegas is like some other world, isn't it? Tut and Leto are so funny. Tut cracks me up every time we go over there. Especially when he tries to move things to make room for himself to stretch out. I'm so glad we got to go down for Grandpa Stephenson's funeral. It was so nice to see everyone. Susan was so kind to host! It was a great visit, even though it was a sad time. Funny how that is, huh? I bet Grandpa would have liked that, though.
