Grandpa Stephenson

You may know that Mark's dad has been very ill. He died at about 2:40 a.m. today. We are happy and envious in a way, and sad and glad and feeling different feelings all at once. Mostly we are happy for him and the fact that he lived his life well. We've always looked up to Grandpa Stephenson; he was that kind of person. He was a hard worker and he expected a lot of himself. He was a gentleman. He taught us high standards. He blessed so many people's lives. I wish I could have seen him one last time. At least I don't have too long to wait before I will see him, as Mark so helpfully pointed out. :/ And that makes me think of how I don't want to be away from any of you, either. We belong together, and that makes loving each other and helping each other and appreciating each other, and this life, so worth it. Let's totally drink each other in, while we have the chance! I love you! xoxoxo

So sad about Grandpa! he really was such a gentleman. I loved his quiet way of teaching. All the grand kids seemed to just admire him and want to make him proud. So sad that he is gone, but so exciting that he is with his wife again!
And that comment from Doc about you seeing him soon.... Bahaha! Such a Doc kind of comment. Sooo funny. Although, not funny that it might be true. :/ We want you here with us too! That is the one and only thing I miss about living so far away. All the family is hours and hours away! I miss soooo much how Aiden used to go do crafts with you. Those kids of things build such nice relationships and memories.
Well, when we visit we'll have to make sure the kids get lots of grandma time in. :)
I'm already looking forward to coming this summer!

That IS sad that he isn't with us on earth anymore, but at least he lived a life of a disciple; that means we don't have to worry about where he's going. :) I've always admired him and Grandma Jeannie, they're just hard-working, loving, and full of light. I remember when they came to visit us several summers ago, they gathered the family together and talked to us all, and now I can't remember what they talked about, but I loved that feeling of being a family and all talking and having love for one another. It was something I want to pass on to my family, gathering everyone together and making each one feel important.
I agree, thank goodness we have each other right now, and I hope you're not going to see Grandpa Stephenson anytime soon. I'm so glad we've been able to come visit you more lately! Hunter is finally getting to know you better, and at least he'll always have the pictures of you holding him while he sucked his thumb. :)

I'm so happy/ sad for Grandpa! You described him really well. He was always very kind and gentlemanly and dignified.
I know it's late, but I loved all your pictures from December. They all make me feel happy and realize how happy and lucky we are to have each other, just like you said. We really should all enjoy each other all the time. I wish we could do that and not have to do lots of other things that are so distracting. I love our family and just being with them!! And I love having more new people to add to that like Linda, Kattie's Ben, Dallin, new babies, etc. It's so wonderful. In fact, it's a wonderful life!

Wow, thank you for your comments. We really appreciate them! I'm so grateful for you and the family and the times and events we share.
Even when we can't spend all of our time together now, we do share our lives, and I agree with Melinda that it's wonderful having new people join us, including babies.
Remember the years when we didn't have any babies? I missed having them around! I love their bright eyes and chubby tummies. Thank you for making them and for marrying great guys to be their fathers!
I also love that Kattie and Ben are near and that we have close extended families. It's great to see our family renewing itself and growing and learning!
