Catching Up, Post-9/11/11

Hello!
It seems like a lot has been happening, I think because we had Family Bingo Night, they went to the fair, Haley took me to TJ Maxx for a shower gift and the next night we went to the shower.  Also, we've been busy with Tut and Leto, getting into good routines with them (we've been trying dry shampoos on Leto, which have made him smell nice and fresh, besides making his coat prettier).  Leto's dental food is working, which makes his teeth whiter and his breath better, and Tut is luxuriating, as usual.
Leto loves to run with me, just loose, while I speed along in the electric wheelchair.  This takes place in the three parking lots (sorry if I'm repeating things I've already told - I can't keep track of everything).
I brought Tut's toy in from the car, and we put some new litter in his box for him (we keep it ultra-clean here, which is something we are striving for in general, for the pets, the car, and our apt., as well as taking care of our health and reading the scriptures and then not focusing on ourselves; it's kind of like, take care of things and then forget about all of that).  So, we enjoy taking care of them and seeing the results.  Makes it way more fun to have them!
Lori and Mark were talking about making Leto the mascot here.  We need to clip his nails and get him a kerchief and he'd be set to go!
Anyway, as to our other activities, Mark washed our big quilt that I bought from Melinda and it looks so nice!  Melinda said it wasn't clean, since it had been in storage, so we knew to wash it.  It's so bright and cheerful now!  I'll have to post pictures that I have taken, including some shots around here; just peeks, since we're not finished yet.  I'll have to really push to get things done so you can see the rest.
I gave four of the grandkids miniature Wooly Willie toys to do in church.  They're a nice, quiet magnet toy that entails dragging metal filings to make hair, beard, etc. on a bald man named Willie.  Kids and grownups both enjoy playing with it.

Yesterday was 9/11/11, as you know.  We watched things about it all through the weekend.  It was very interesting and also sad, just to think of civilians being attacked like that, especially the firefighters and policemen and EMS workers.  However, it feels better than other years, because we aren't feeling frustrated that Osama is still on the loose.  I'm relieved and happy that he was caught in such ignoble circumstances, with so much intelligence around for us to pick up.  I'm glad, also, that his character was revealed in the way he used a woman as a shield.  That correlates with other behavior he has displayed and confirms that he was basically someone who enjoyed destruction, who delighted in it, someone who did not live by his professed convictions, did not do what he called on others to do, did not place himself in danger, and was not a noble man.  Not at all.  He was a parody of a noble man.
Gordon B. Hinckley, by contrast, was the true epitome of a noble man.  He lived a productive life, lifting and teaching millions by his words and deeds for more than 9 decades.  He spent his life making this a more beautiful and loving world, building relationships between peoples, building churches, universities, meeting places, temples, cultural centers, and their beutiful environs.  He established humanitarian and educational projects that are self-sustaining, around the world.   He was a simple family man.  Rather than being forgotten, he leaves an enduring legacy of love and hope.

So I end this with a promise of pictures, more words, and more gratitude for living in America.
I love you!

Leto would make a great mascot! So, what are the plans with him, or do you even know?
I started watching a dateline show on 9/11 today and it's been really interesting. Honestly, I think it is crazy how it has taken soooo many years for them to get a memorial up, and I kind of wish that these bad terrorist people didn't get to dictate how we are supposed to be and act on certain days. So, forever now on 9/11 we better be reflective and sad on facebook and our blogs or someone will get mad! And maybe someone will get mad for me just commenting on that too!
