Happenings and Thoughts
I'm trying to remember what all we've been doing...I had symptoms of a virus yesterday, but I'm feeling better ever since I ate some of the Cheetos we bought last week. Isn't that funny?
We went for lunch, a couple of days ago, with Deedee, Jessica (her asst.), and Melissa (the nurse). We call it the Brat Pack now. It includes Julie and Jeff and basically anyone; those are the people that have done things with us so far.
We went to the Mac Shack and got macaroni and cheese. I got a baby portion and still have some left over, in the fridge. It was good, when you got extra cheese sauce. :D
It sounds like we're spending a lot of moola, but we aren't, because Deedee and Julie usually pay. Once we paid for Melissa and Deedee, and a few times we've paid for our own. It's kind of what you do here, very fun and good for everybody. I really enjoy the people.
The owner and his girlfriend haven't joined us yet - they are kind of to themselves. I hope they do join us some time. I think they'd enjoy it.
I looked on the Internet for tips and then I changed shampoo to Aussie Aussome 2-in-1 Volumizing. It's worked so well on my hair, making it fuller and smoother and shiny. Wahoo!
I hope it keeps working that way. I love to find tips that help me look better or to save money or find what I'm looking for. The Internet is great in lots of ways, but can take up too much time if you're not careful; then you're finding out all these great ways to live, but not spending time living.
Anyway, I'm going to pass on the tips that work. And please return the favor!
Tomorrow is a big day: first of all, it's Seth's birthday. He's at the house for now, and he's trying to get a job and pay rent to us; however, if he finds a job he might rent somewhere else. Also, if we find a good renter that can pay more rent, he would probably need to change his base of operation. The Harts are looking to rent in Pocatello. I would love them to rent our home, furnished or unfurnished, at a really good price for them. Everybody tell them about that!
That would help us survive if we couldn't stay here at some point (you have to prepare for future possibilities, and I want to stay in Vegas if we can, with our new associations and ward - it feels like we are doing good things here).
Anyway, we have some plans for Seth's bday., which I'll tell you later.
It's also a big day because they're having a big Valentine's Dance tomorrow evening, from four to seven p.m., and Deedee is taking me to get my nails done, and she's going to fix my hair for me! I'm going to wear the red top I wore for Haley's wedding, and some black velvet pants that I got from Wal Mart, if we can wash them in time, lol. With the right jewelry, I should be good to go (I don't have to worry about the right shoes - shoes are so cute now, it would be great to get some!).
Won't that be exciting? They'll probably have a band, and they'll have a setup for photos. Cool!
It'll be like our prom we never had!
I'm glad they're not having it on Sunday this week.
Monday is the real Valentine's Day. Deedee and Julie will be sad, because they're single. But they're planning a trip to Cancun in March, I think. And I'll make them cards and we could get them candy or something. Don will probably get them flowers or something. He seems to be a thoughtful person. Monday is also Don's birthday. They have his cake in the refrigerator, because they were going to celebrate it Saturday, but then they went out of town. They'll be back Sunday. I'm not sure if we should get him something or not. I can make a card, at least.
Mark's going to tell him about an idea I had for marketing the Memory Care unit, something that is a new concept and might be very successful. I hope so! I love marketing, and one of their marketers said I should be one. I'm cooking up ideas, at least.
Oh, we completed our 24-hour fast, and Deedee participated. (Did I already tell you that?)
I think that was so wonderful of her. Mostly we were fasting for Don - he's going through a rough time, and they are also changing quite a few of the staff (I hope none of our Brat Pack!)
We fasted, too, for all of us. I believe it really helped us feel peaceful about whatever comes.
Fasting is so cool. When you do it as a group, it draws down the powers of Heaven, just as promised. The pure gospel is so cool too.
I found our what Megan is having (boy or girl), but I'm not telling! She's probably already told everyone anyway. I'm very, very excited, and also thinking how cool the next one will seem. Either she'll have a big string of girls, or she'll have a break from girls and have a cute little boy this time. It's one or the other!
When any of you get married and have children, it makes me feel younger. I love babies and children! And I love to see what you do in your life; just make sure that you keep your head on straight and remember what we're here for. We have great opportunities to serve God, as parents, as missionaries (with the nametag or without), as friends, as coworkers, as help to the sick, needy, single moms and dads, little children and teens, and through our callings.
People are watching what we do with our lives. They are seeing new possibilities, as we make our choices and decide which attitude we will have towards life. Any one person can choose a path that is new and untrodden. Isn't that exhilarating and energizing?
Well, I'll close for now. Please remember to let go and let the Spirit flow. Let go of worry and let go of fear. Think about the Plan and look forward to seeing glorious things - you will witness the
wrapping up of time, whether from this side or the other. Think about watching it! It will put you worries and fears in perspective, if you remember.
Love you!

Your posts inspire me to be better, I'm so glad you write about your testimony and tell us how you feel. It sounds like you're going to have a fun Valentine's Day! I loooove that holiday, there's magic in the air! I'm jealous that you get to go out dancing and partying tonight, that'll be so fun! I WAS going to be in the Napoleon Dynamite dance, but I just had to say no because I'm feeling so sick every time I move or stand up, especially when I practice the dance even if I'm not doing the actions at all. I'm really really sad that I can't be in it, but Mel says she'll do it with me for something else like my ward talent show. Anyhoo, you have a V-Day card coming in the mail from Hunter! Keep a lookout, it'll probably get there after the actual holiday, but you'll like the pictures I sent. Keep writing on here!
Your dinners and trips out with the Rat Pack sound fun! And you'll have to tell us how the Valentine's party turns out. We are going to a stake one tonight with the Nelson's and the Long's from church. Danielle is babysitting for free since it is a church activity. She actually came up to me and asked if we were going so she could watch our kids!
All of your activities and things sound so fun!! I'm so glad that you get to have fun, but most of all, that you get to be together. Thanks for telling us about what is going on. I can't wait to see pictures of your party!!
