Lately...

Hello!  I've been a little discouraged because I was working on a good post, and it disappeared, but now I've got the courage to move ahead  ; ) so here goes...

A couple of mornings ago, I rolled my eyes way back in my head and let my mouth loll open and asked Mark what he would do if I looked like that.
He said, "I  would grab a Sharpie marker and draw eyes on your eyeballs."
Then I would look like the old cartoon Little Orphan Annie, he said.  I thought that was funny.

Tut and Leto are doing fine.  We haven't left Leto at home one time since we moved.  Can you believe that?!  He just assumes he's going with us.  If it's hot, we find some shade and leave the windows down (it's never really hot here this year), or Mark stays outside and walks Leto around, or Leto goes with us.  And Tut lies on the bed almost all day.  Mark leaves our window open and has an upside-down bucket on the floor beside it, so Tut doesn't have to jump far to get up in it or go outside.  (it's a little harder getting back in, tho.)  We don't give them scraps, tho.  Just doggie dental treats for Leto nowadays.  Aren't they spoiled?

We gave them their booster shots, but Leto got his rabies shot at the vet's office (this was some months ago).  We also got Leto a harness, but put lhis collar back on him till we can get a better harness that doesn't slide around.  And he wears his red kerchief; Tut just goes naked.

We have continued to send out resumes and talk to people, etc.  In the meantime, we have watched some good movies together and gone to D.I. a couple of times, looking for kitchen utensils and little pans, since ours are all packed up.  Also, Mark works on various other things, types up the ward bulletin for me, and  prepares to teach his S.S. class.  And we go to my drs. appts. and run errands, etc.

We also sit outside in the shade or the sun each day (me in the shade).  I read, and he listens to his i-pod.  It's good to get out of the house like that.  You'd think that we'd be going to Barnes and Noble or swimming or fishing, etc.  We really spend lots of time on his job search, tho, and Mark also checks up on the state of the Apocalypse each day, just in case we're missing something.

The owner of this building is still letting us stay here rent-free, and we like it a lot.  Mark has been baking artisinal bread, which makes the building smell nice.  We are both counting calories, and I really enjoy it.  It's so clear-cut, and you don't have to worry about what you're eating then.  Fun!  I don't feel deprived at all.  I'm eating 1,000 calories a day, and I hope that keeps me in good shape.  I'm not walking around, so don't need many.

I will be emailing Seth's new address to you soon, okay?  And you know Haley is past her due date now.  Wow, that baby girl is still cooking!  And we never hear from Phillip - hope he's okay.  And Justin, too, and all of you!  It's Ben's birthday soon, and he'll be 38.  Almost grown up!

We love you all!  Take care!

Mark went to print off the church bulletins at the church, so I thought I'd let you know what's been goin' on.  We're going to SLC tomorrow and Saturday to see our friend Julie (know from Las Vegas, but she's from Salt Lake), so he needed them printed early.

What have we been doing?  Sending out resumes, looking at job postings, looking at thrift stores for cooking utensils, watching DVDs and movies on t.v., and just visiting or sitting outside, mostly.  I love having this time together, so much, but looking for jobs gets old right away.  That part is kind of tiring.

D&C 45 is encouraging, though.  It is so obvious what time in the world it is, and it's exciting.  I just absorbed that we might be with my mom during the Millenium!  (For sure, if we're good ;)
That makes me sooooooo happy!  Oh My Goodness!  We would all have such fun with her and Grandma and Colleen and Aunt Evelyn and so many others I hope to be with (yes, they're all women, but I'm addressing this to you, my blog audience, and I reckon I only occasionally have a male reader (mostly Phillip).

They have been having some great sunsets here, because of the smoky haze from wildfires in the region.  A 20 year-old firefighter was killed in Idaho recently when a tree fell on her.  Isn't that sad?
Anyway, the days are hazy too.  Today is a little better, but I can't help but think of the dim sun, red moon, and smoky vapors in Ch. 45~

We love you!

Good Food

Watching the Olympics, along with cooler weather, makes me want to be active and healthy.

Boskydellfarm.blogspot.com has a great site for all you who are interested in great food, gardening, or simple, fresh self-reliant living.
There are so many good posts about favorite meals on the web.  I'll tell you mine, if you'll return the favor!

For a light meal, I'd just like vegetable broth or Lipton's chicken noodle soup or egg drop soup, with good watermelon or a fresh pear.

For a no-holds-barred meal, I'd like to taste all the best pastries that incorporate whipped cream.  Wouldn't that be fun?   We should have a girl-party with that theme someday!  I'll go out to Meg's or Haley's if their are others that will go, too.  We should this fall and we could visit Amish country and go thru haunted houses, too!  I am serious.

Other food favorites:   Fresh corn on the cob; crisp salad with black olives, mandarin oranges, sweet onions, avocadoes, tomatoes, eggs, toasted lnuts and a light, home-mixed dressing; baby peas; Yukon Gold potatoes; eggs on toast, over-easy; chocolate strawberries, hot cocoa and cold root beer.  Sooo many good things.

Let me know what your favorite meals would be.
We love you!

Okay...I Always Make The Same Mistakes

Maybe they're farther between?

Anyway, I always forget to just blog!  No reading, no comments, no editing pics, nothing until after I have written a post!
(Remind me again later, ok?)

I have been missing you all like crazy!!  Mark and I have been taking turns propping each other up.  He has sent resumes out to Iowa and Nampa and I don't know where all.  We have checked so many sites for jobs, besides networking.
You would think we'd just have fun with our time, and we do, as much as we can; however, time is of the essence, so we are feeling the pressure.
We have time to visit people now, but no moola to buy tickets or whatever.

Now on to more cheerful subjects.  Let's see...I'll let you know (jk!).  But I will need to do that part tomorrow, 'cause it's almost 5 a.m.  (I rarely sleep on Saturday nights)
I will tell you that I've decided to drop out of book club, even though I'll miss my beloved fellow members.
Just can't do it at this point.  So we'll see if we have to move.  I hope not!  But a move near family is my second choice, after staying in Idaho.
Ty for all your love and support!
